Dish Network vs Direct TV - Choices, Choices!

I am in the process of a comparison between Dish Network vs Direct TV. I have really seen that satellite TV is the way to go, but I am still having a difficult time choosing which the best for my family is. I know that we want lots of sports and of course the local stuff. I am a total news junkie! Does anyone else know which service is the best for sports and news lovers? I would really be interested in hearing from people who have dealt with one of these two companies. Any tips and tricks on making a choice would also be a welcome thing! Thank you!
