If you have every been hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park then you will know only too well that it has some quite magnificent views. Indeed, on many occasions I have slipped into my favorite pair of Asolo hiking boots and headed off for a day’s hiking along Trail Ridge Road. But, in addition to the wonderful scenery, there is also a wealth of wildlife within the park which houses over 3,000 elk and 800 bighorn sheep, not to mention the nearly 300 different species of bird including stellar jays, golden eagles and white-tailed ptarmigan. Another fascinating sight is that of the bats feeding along Old River Road at both dawn and dusk. Hiking is a wonderful pastime for young and old alike and there really is no better way to see Mother Nature at work.
