Grand party with personalized pendants

My son cleared his eleventh grade in flying colors and we were very happy for him. He is a very unassuming character and does not like any kind of pomp and show. But, we wanted to express our appreciation and hence we requested him to invite some of his special friends for a small get together at home. The list included our friends too. Without telling him we bought some lovely personalized pendants for all his friends. When we gave them at the end, our son was very touched did I see a drop of tear or two in his eyes?
