Man there is alot of ways to sell online. Ebay, paid search, natural search, comparison shopping, data feeds, affiliates, my head is going to explode!
From the level of defining an ecommerce marketing strategy, probably the best best is testing the waters to see the return on marketing investments. If you figure that conversion rates will vary greatly from the mediums that are promoting the site, then obviously the dollar per visit per channel will also vary. Im thinking that is the metric that I will use to properly gauge the returns that are created from the investment. You really cant sell online without Google it seems, which makes me a bit nervous.
