Why isn’t church furniture built for comfort?

I know, church furniture isn’t built for comfort, but I heard a story last week about a clever minister who solved two problems at once by renting out pillows for those hard pews to the congregation before services. So now not only does he have a more content and attentive flock, but the coffers are that much more ‘padded’ as well! After thinking about it for a minute, I decided this was a good idea and plan on proposing it to our elders at the next church admin meeting! We will just have to make sure that folks know it doesn’t mean that they can ignore the collection plate! The Lord still needs his Tithe for His good works!
